Northern travel bloggers wanted!
Ever since I attended Traverse 13 in Brighton back in April, I’ve been keen to get together with fellow northern travel bloggers in England. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great to attend networking events down south (and anywhere else in the world for that matter), when I can make it. Luckily at Traverse I met a fellow northern blogger, Clare Farrell from Need Another Holiday who like myself, works full-time and can’t always make informal networking events in London either.
Clare and I continued the discussion at TBEX and World Travel Market and after meeting Oliver Gradwell from Travel Bloggers Unite, I’m super-excited to say, we’ve finally got our act together and set things in motion!
Oliver has created a Facebook group to support the network: North England Travel Blogging Meetup.
It’s not just for northerners. Or travel bloggers.
Anyone interested in travel writing, photography/videography, blogging, social media and travel, including those who work in the travel industry are welcome to come along. No experience necessary and you don’t actually have to blog about the north, be northern or live in the north – y’all are welcome! Events will be informal and will take place in the North of England in different cities on weekends, to make it easier for those who work during the week.
Where will you be on December 7th?
The first Meetup will take place on Saturday 7th December in Manchester. We’re planning on seeking out some Christmas Cheer as we discuss our travel plans and blogging activity – or as Oliver put it; “meetup in a relaxed atmosphere to swap tips and to chat about all things travel, social media and trashy TV related.” Further details are available in the Facebook group but if you’re not a Facebook user and are still interested in joining us, please contact me via this site.
So if talking travel is your thing we’d love for you to join us – come over to the Facebook group and introduce yourself: North England Travel Blogging Meetup
